📜 About HybridIRC

Established in 2018, HybridIRC emerged following the shutdown of the WebChat network after the passing of its founder, Mark Owen. Former WebChat staff members Berat and Gokturk secured the domain and built HybridIRC from the ground up as a fully volunteer-run, non-profit network dedicated to free and open communication. Transitioning from the legacy ConferenceRoom IRC daemon, HybridIRC selected modern open-source software—InspIRCd and Atheme—to provide a stable and familiar environment. The network supports IPv4/IPv6, TLS, and Tor, operating without fees or advertisements. Today, HybridIRC hosts a thriving community and consistently ranks among the top networks on netsplit.de.
