π About HybridIRC
Founded in 2017, HybridIRC began as a private network catering to close-knit groups. By 2019, it had evolved into a public IRC network known for its innovation, stability, and welcoming environment.
HybridIRC is operated by a volunteer-driven, non-profit team, offering free IRC chat services globally. Powered by InspIRCd and Atheme, we aim to provide a secure, intuitive platform for communities of all sizes.

- 2019: Public launch after two years of private development.
- 2022: Launch of PyLink, enabling inter-network and channel linking.
- 2024: Deployment of the nexus.* server for improved performance and resilience.
- 2025: Relaunch of sirius.*, enhancing uptime and reliability.
- 2025: In-house deployment of PyLink across our network.
- Ranked among the top 10 IRC networks worldwide.
HybridIRC was originally founded by former WebChat IRC network members. By 2025, it has grown to be the fifth-largest IRC network globally.
