Founded in 2017, HybridIRC began as a private network aimed at small user groups seeking a reliable IRC platform. By 2019, it had grown into a public network, recognized for its friendly policies, innovative features, and vibrant community.
HybridIRC operates as a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization, delivering free chat services to users worldwide. Powered by InspIRCd and Atheme, we are committed to providing a secure, user-friendly environment where communities can connect, share, and thrive.
🚀 Milestones and Achievements
- 2019: Official public launch after two years of development.
- 2022: Introduction of PyLink, allowing seamless inter-network and channel linking with another network.
- 2024: Network expansion with the addition of the server nexus.*, enhancing capacity and reliability.
- 2025: Re-introduction of the sirius.* server, restoring and strengthening network connectivity and collaboration.
- 2025: Deployment of HybridIRC’s own PyLink, enabling direct inter-network and channel linking within our ecosystem.
- Ranked among the top 10 IRC networks globally.
